Funny conversation today with Lawan. It went a little something like this:
L.: "Ms. Balwin, do you have a mom?"
Me: "Yes Lawan, I do. Her name is Ms. Baldwin too."
L.: "Is she white?"
Me: "Yes, Lawan, she is."
L.: "Is your dad white?"
Me: "Yes, Lawan, he is."
L.: "Is your brother white?"
Me: "Yes, he's white too."
L.: "Is your sister white?"
Me: "I don't have a sister." ***
L.: oh.
I'm also thinking about changing the name of this blog. Here are some potential replacements:
"Coloring Makes You Hungry" (the wisdom of Jalen)
"God Bless Stickers"
"This Maths is Fun" (thank you, Carnez)
I'm sure more will come as time goes on.
***NOTE: While I don't have a sister, I do have an amazing sister-in-law, who is, in fact, white too. Hi Irina!!!

I'm glad you told me about your blog Emily. I've enjoyed reading about your adventures thus far. Seems like you have a lot ahead of you but also a lot for which to be thankful. The kids are adorable--are you really going to have that many kids in your class? I think I counted over 25 in your list for the fall.
