I'm actually not a counselor this year, which means I won't be with the kids as much. The powers that be decided they needed people in the office to keep the wheels spinning, which I think sounds like a wise decision. I will, however, get to see the kids daily - and it'll be even more fun because I'll get to just hang out with them and not be the guy in charge. One of my official jobs is to take pictures, and I'll be posting the best of them up here.
For now - please pray for Mama D and the kids (G. & O.). She's been very unhappy with Ketchum, the school the children attend, and wants to get them enrolled in Kipp Academy, a local charter school. She's been completely overwhelmed, however, by the paperwork involved, as well as the process you have to go through to get them in. It would be great if they could get out of Ketchum, as the stories they've told me make it sound like a zoo.
Thanks ya'll. Many more (much more interesting) posts will be coming, now that the busiest time of year is about to get underway.
I'll leave you with some pictures I took in Vermont this past week. My wonderful sister-in-law, Irina, came from England with the baby to visit. It was gorgeous weather - the Lilacs (my favorite flower) were out in force. Being in that environment, surrounded by such beauty, spending time with my darling little niece - it all served to remind me how great & good is our God.
