Night at the Gardens

I went with my housemates/coworkers and the summer counselors to Potomac Gardens last night to hang out with the kids. It was great fun, as always. I was also thrilled to see a large group of security guards getting shown around and introduced to the people. It seems the city has made good on its promise to provide more security for the Gardens. That is a BIG answer to prayer.

A few pictures of our night:

This little girl definately won the brightest shoes contest.

This is the same little girl that I have at the top of my blog - one year older.

Miss Ruth (an AWESOME summer counselor) and T. T is one of the kids who I've grown closest to over the past year and I'm sad to say she's moving to North Carolina. Actually, it's probably going to be a much better situation for her. It's at least going to be a better school system, and she's a very smart girl who will benefit greatly from having a better program and more one-on-one attention. I, however, am going to miss her very, very much.

AWESOME shoes

Playing basketball. The little boy to the right had a definite height disadvantage, but he played his little heart out.
