Some Pictures from Camp Training & the Gardens

This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. It's M., R., N. & M (R, the second from the left, and M, on the far right, are sisters) right before the potluck. We were on our way to the Harris Teeter to pick up some cookies. Beautiful girls.

Me & A at the potluck.

My Dad & M. Dad has become a minor celebrity at the Gardens. He's met alot of the kids, and often when I tell them that I'm Mr. Bob's daughter they look at me with amazement (he's HER dad??? but he's so much cooler than her!). I'm always sure to get a smile from them if I tell them that Mr. Bob's coming by, and on this particular Friday he was greeted with a hoard of children running at full speed right toward him. He turned around and ran the other way, which I thought was pretty hilarious.

Leah & Me (I think the lack of sleep has finally gotten to her)

T., Mijin (one of my roomies), A., Vivian (a summer counselor from NYU) & Brittany

I don't know this little girl. She was having a heck of a good time with that balloon - spinning around and laughing in the grass. Unfortunately, she lost her grip on it and it flew away. I saw her stop and look around. She was in the middle of a group of people who were at the Gardens just for the potluck and she didn't recognize any of them. She saw me sitting down and I told her that it was ok, and motioned for her to come over. She came and immediately put her arms around me and layed her head on my shoulder, crying over her balloon. I was touched by how she trusted me, and how she let me comfort her. After a couple of minutes, I suggested we find the dessert table and she perked up.
